I just got these today. They're still drying a bit from bathes. I'm not sure of their ages, was told two months but one is younger than the other, if that helps.
If that's your only choice I would bring a hen in and watch it with the chick for awhile and see how she does, if she pecks at it try a diff hen. I have one silkie hen that loves going broody but doesn't like chicks. But there has been a few times I've brought an older silkie chick in and put it...
I would assist the first one and see if it's stuck before helping the other two. You can search how to assist hatching on here. I just take the top part of the shell off. Then wet the membrane to look for veins. If there's not alot of blood in the veins I peel it off and fold it over the edges...
We had an indoor rabbit that free ranged in the house and her crate was where she pottied. She hated it when I changed the bedding in it. She would have a fit. I started locking her out of the room when I did it but when she would use it after it was clean she would tear it up ( there would be...
She has been like that since I got her. And I haven't picked her up since I got her. I put the ones I got together in a separate coop after a month or so I started letting them free range and she decided to sleep in a tree and is really skittish. I'm glad she's not a rooster though. I was...
I tried to get a closer picture but it's raining and she keeps running away. I'll see if I can tomorrow.
I wondered if it was a deformity or something. I don't think she's laying yet unless she has a secret hiding place.
So a couple months ago I got some Cochin's from a lady they were rejects from a breeding program. ( I posted about another one that was sick) all were black besides this one. It's back end is just weird so I just wanted to know if any one seen any chickens like this before. I figured it was a...
It's not pasty butt. There was some on the feathers around her butt but it came right off. It was like she pooped while laying there today. She just started it sometime today. I found her when I checked on her during my lunch break. And she seemed fine yesterday.
Her crop feels hard. I just got the straw Saturday and out it in. Maybe it's something with that? I don't think she's molting. None of then are old enough to lay yet. I haven't seen her poop. The poop was under wear she was laying and there was some stuck to her bum
