Hi everyone!
I have a small flock of Modern Game bantams. They are my first of the breed and Im wondering if there's a type of feed that is recommended for them.
I don't care about eggs, I care about the health of my birds as they are just viewed as pets.
Let me know what you think!
Well that's alright if he's white. He's only a pet anyways. He was born the end of March so I most certainly thought if he WAS going to be red, that he would already be there. I was just very surprised to see cream color feathers against the rest of his stark white body!
He did come from a hatchery. When I got them I was unaware of any local breeders. I've since learned of some.
I'm not clear on what you're thinking about the color though. Do you think he will stay white?
I had only ordered Modern Game Bantams so I was quite surprised that I received two OEG.
Sorry I'm late getting back! I have an OEG Bantam ( I had only ordered Modern Game) that is white but he's starting a show a bit of cream coloring now...He was born the end of March. You cant see it here but maybe I can get a picture tonight.
You don't think he's going to change color, do you?
They are in a very large brooder with a red heat lamp. The lamp is somewhat center of the brooder at 18" as recommended by the hatchery.
She is not standing under the light like she's looking for warmth..
I had tried bringing it down a bit for a different chick a few days back and they got too...
Hi everyone.
I've had quite a poor start to my second ever chicks.
Out of Nine modern game bantams....I have three healthy chicks and one depressed runt.
The runt, Dusty, is a bit smaller and totally disinterested in nearly everything.
She is drinking a tiny bit. She pecks feed that's fallen...
