I can't speak for anyone else, but I always want to see both the dry and wet colors for EVERY egg, even plain ol' tan ones! (Hence the wet stripe on my BCM egg above.)

I'm LOVING these replies! So fascinating. Interesting to note that white speckles can be made by bloom or calcium deposits. What hen made your pink egg?
There were other photos of the egg showing that it was a heavy gray bloom over the olive. I've seen other solid grays like this that are olive when wet. So neat.
Ah! I was just reading about a hen whose eggs regularly have dark spots that are thinner than the surrounding shell. Would that be a porosity issue as well?
Mere Kay posted this on a colored egg enthusiast Facebook group (sharing with permission). All three eggs are from the same Welsummer hen! So this is an excellent example of the affect of a heavy bloom.
