There's not alot TO do, most times the momas do all the work and will have them when you go out one day lol Just mark the calander and keep an eye out :) and congrats! Also you can try backyardherds for more info.
My brother in law accidentally ran him over :( It wasn't his fault though, for some reason My gander decided he was going to charge his van and ran out in front of him before he could stop. It was weird he always knew to get out of the way and has never done that, I mean he would honk whenever...
So, sad today. My poor boy died...Now my girl Is all alone, I don't think she knows what happened yet. She's always been friends with my ducks. I hope they will be able to keep her company till I can find her a new mate...
So today I found My embden's secret stash lol She had laid a few eggs in the coop then I hadn't found anymore so I figured since it was winter she stopped and it was a fluke. I had seen her making a nest but whenever I went by there when she was done I couldn't see anything, apparently she...
This is like me. I have no problem sharing my eggs with people who are grateful and love them. My husband had given a dozen to our neighbors once. They looked horrified and disgusted...Needless to say we did not offer them anymore
They are both pretty skittish, but I didn't have them until they were about a month, I've had them for about 3 months now. The size difference is very slight as with the face crauncles (spelling?) One could be a little older for all I know. When I got them they both had some fuzz still, the...
Thanks :) Really two females? I've never had muscovies before so I really don't know :/ Anyone have pictures of 4 month old or younger ducks of different genders for comparison? Thanks for all the responses so far :)
Oh good, I think I have a pair then. Here's a pic of them maybe someone more experienced can tell me for sure. The one that has more white is the one that I'm pretty sure is male.
Hey there everyone, I have a question that may be stupid but these are my first muscovies and I don't know too much. I have two Muscovy ducks I THINK (emphasis on think) I have a male and a female. I'm not sure on age but I think there about 4 months or so. One is bigger and has more noticeable...
From what I can tell from the pics it looks like (from top to bottom) dark brahma, white rock, white leghorn, and brown leghorn? Maybe some kind of game bird. Nice looking flock though, good luck with them
A couple of yours actually caught some air! lol Mine are like the white one on the left, they will flap their little wings and hard as they can and won't budge. And to think my in laws were afraid they would fly over the fence
Hey there, I'm getting ready to hatch out some quail and it will be my first time raising quail. I've hatched them before but never really raised them. I've been reading up on how to take care of them but I haven't really seen anything on their laying behavior. If I make them a little nest box...
