I have had my Quail since March 2020. They have never showed signs of leg issues until now. I have one whose legs are turned all the way inward now. I noticed she sits her leg in the waterer to cool off (I have ice packs & cooling methods I use but she seems to like her feet wet I guess?).. I'm...
Thank you so much. Y'all definitely helped, I think this was just one of those things you may never even know what happened. I'm just glad she's not in pain any more ❤️
Unfortunately when we got home from Tractor Supply we found her dead. I am heart broken beyond words & feel like I failed her. Thank you all for trying to help me save my girl.
A lot of the threads I've read have said to treat her for 7 days on only scrambled eggs & yogurt.. I wouldn't be able to do that if she was in with the flock. There's a lot of contradictory things & it's just confusing me honestly. Lol
And she is lowest in the pecking order as it is 🤦♀️
Oh, yes! I know. I just am not 100% sure if it is or not so I want to be safe, and also keeping her alone will help me monitor her poops & other behaviors plus keeping her comfortable & cool.
Definitely still treating for sour crop, been doing everything I've read on other threads about sour crop with her for 5 hours now. And I'll be keeping her in quarantine in the A/C giving electrolytes/probiotics as well. Thank you for your help! I really appreciate it.
Plus, honestly.. if she's over heating I would have no idea how to continue on besides literally keeping her in a/c. I do everything possible to keep them hydrated & cool, summer has just started & it will only get hotter.
I would think if she was overheating the rest of my hens would be too. Maybe not, but she was staying in the shade. I'm just not sure if that would be the cause of the other symptoms she's having with her crop
It's not particularly hot today, not the hottest day it's been by any means. The sun isn't out today, it's overcast. I freeze cubes of ice in containers & put them in every day around 2pm, they have adequate shade & ventilation. She hasn't made any progress since being in the A/C for a few hours...
I have had 6 hens since March 2020 with no issues. Just to answer questions ahead of time- I clean their coop every Monday, I researched on this site so much before getting them & try my best to do everything right. This is the first time I've had a sick hen. This morning I noticed my smallest...
