Thank you! I've been going slowly trying to figure them out as well and this is what I've come up with 👇. (I do know that royal purple is not in this mix because they're not supposed to be in the package I ordered - although that doesn't mean it can't happen. Lol 🤣 )
I'm not sure about the...
Just got new babies in and I'm so excited for these! I think I know some of the colors, but not all of them. I see violet, blonde, bronze, and pinto. But I can't figure out what the others are, especially the suuujper dark one. He has stripes on his head but none on his back.
What colors do...
Not sure what an rcom incubator is but it's in a hovabator 27xx something or another, lol 😆
By lock down, i had 5 viable eggs, out of those i got 3 to hatch so I'm at least happy i got a few from my first mailed eggs. I thought I wasn't going to get any truth be told.
I didn't know what else...
I'm incubating mailed eggs for the first time. And quite a few of the eggs have wobbly air sacs. My incubator lays eggs on the side and turns them that way, not the traditional up and down way in a white plastic egg turner. (As you can see in my video).
Is there anything I can do to try to stop...
So this is my Roos legs, they look really good compared to what they had been. Checked all my girls legs and they all look excellent. But my Roo doesn't have me convinced that we got them all the first time....
What do you think?
So I should actually get both then? The permethrin 10% to treat the housing, and the ivermectin if I have another bad case. I'll check their legs again tonight when they roost and see how they look. Ty!
Ok I saw information for both of those so wanted to be sure before I bought anything first. I can get photos later today they're currently all free ranging ATM. When we found out we had them we cleaned out everything, pressure washed and I sprayed a bleach water solution on the floor (orlts...
I had a pretty medium to kinda bad case of scaly leg mites with my chickens last year (didn't know they were even a thing then or what to look for :barnie) anyway.... I'm concerned some may still have some as their scales still don't look "normal". Since they possibly had them for so long I was...
So I watched the video. Do you/should you always peel their leg scales off that are affected by leg mites? Or is that just during certain occasions or....???
We had leg mites in our coop and I didn't even realize what was going on until it was bad on quite a few of them. So we had to treat all...
Oh I really hope so! This was supposed to be our batch of eggs to replace the birds we'll most likely be loosing Soon due to old age :/. Really don't want to be doing another batch so close to fall/winter 😬
So apparently at some point today my incubator came unplugged, hatch day is on Saturday for my keets and chicks! 😭
Temp on all my guages says 76 degrees 💔
They were all viable before this, do they have a snowballs chance in hell still since they're almost there? I'm def going to candle tomorrow...
Oh there was no hesitation, the only reason he didn't get me was cuz I heard him coming. I was able to get out of the way, and then I ran him back a few feet afterwards so he couldn't try it again.
But you could tell he was getting ready to, so I left since my 5 year old was with me
