Perches extend full length of coop?

How far apart are your roosts? I'm thinking I would rather do same height roosts over stair step to prevent too much squable over the top roost. I'm thinking 4ft high with an elevated poop deck so I can save the floor space under the poo deck.

Perches extend full length of coop?

I've been trying to research "same height/level" roosting bars and came across this. How far apart are yours and would you change this style of roost? I want to do this with a poop board below...and would like to prevent too much squable over who get the highest bar.

There are always people that would rather skip...

Trying to decide what chicks to keep based on behavior...

Hi! I ended up finding two lavender Orps shortly after buying 4 Buff (one is really presenting as a cockerel though). I also have a few other chicks I may sell but need help on chick behavior. Two of my BO are the first to greet me in the brooder and jockey to jump up on my forearm. It is so...

Need help curating my new flock!

I am working on a mix of some good layers, some heritage, and colored eggers that are all more docile friendly types that are good for Ohio weather. I have ended up with a few too many chicks. Need to probably get back down to 14-16. Would also love to hear any suggestions on one to add or swap...

    Hi from a newbie:)

Hello everyone:) Starting my first flock this year. We have been wanting to for a few years and with the husband home from work right now we jumped in! After some research, I really wanted a mixed flock of docile, friendly birds that will lay well (with some pretty eggs too) and some that will...
