Unfortunetly, i'm in the UK and so we don't have anything like that. I'll have a look online to see if there is anything like that available near me.
The only thing my vet proscribes for chickens is Tylan and Loxicom as an anti inflammatory. It was a while ago since I last had coccidiosis but I...
Hello, I have four chicks, who are 3 weeks old on Saturday. Two are Buff Orpingtons, one is a Marsbar and one is a Cream Legbar.
I noticed this morning that there was some bright red blood in their poo- i'm not sure which one as whenever I watch the poo looks fine!
I immediately thought...
Thats great to know, thank you. That does sound very similar. Her abdominal cavity is definitely unscathed and no organs are visible (the vet had a good poke and said it was completely sealed).
I recently purchased two white Orphington hens, around 18 months old.
We noticed as soon as we brought them home that one of the hens had an odd black patch on her side. She was eating, drinking and pooing fine so we left her to settle for a few days before investigating. It looked like a...
I should add that it's new hens (plus 1 at the bottom of the pecking order) getting attacked if they try and enter.
The bully (Izzy) is around 3 and not the top of the pecking order by any means but definitely aggressive to them outside of the coop too.
There are 16 in total (two of whom are...
I have a hen in my flock who always sleeps near the door of the coop. She keeps attacking any other hen who tries to go in at night and now i'm finding hens trying to sleep all over the run!
Does anyone have any advice for stopping this behaviour?

The bantam cockeral doesn't seem to jump on...
I purchased 4 day-old chicks from a breeder. A Buff Sussex, Buff Orpington and two Gold Partridge Wynadotte Bantams. All were sexed pullets, except for the Orpington, who was unsexed. Luckily, we think she is a girl because one of the GPWB is definitely a cockerail and not a GPWB! The other was...
Hi there. I have been keeping chickens for over a decade and have been having a huge string of bad luck recently. Most of my girls I get as day olds and raise. When they are old ebough, they go out with the main flock. I currently have 11 hens and 4 chicks who are 11 weeks old (seems likely to...
Hello! I bought 4 chicks, including my first bantams. Two of the chicks (both 9 weeks) I was told are Gold Partridge Wynadotte Bantams. One of them is classically what (I think) they should look like and the other is quite different! I don't really mind about breeds but I am curious as to...
