    Red Sex Link/Australorp mix

We have Red Sex Links hens (27) and a Australorp Roo. We're thinking about letting the Roo go with the hens (hence we may get chicks). Has anyone ever crossed these two breed? What did you end up with?

Newly Hooked on Backyard Chickens!! Help with my breed and Gender??

How old are they? (sorry if I missed it, but couldn't find it) The EE looks like a hen to me. I agree that pokey looks like a roo. Only one in the bunch (to me, at least).

Breed? and can you tell boy or girl yet?

It's slightly possible it could be an after effect of the dye, but I'd say rooster.

Question: What will happen if I breed these two... Aussie and RSL

Also, don't quote me on what breeds the RSL came from. That's just what I was told. My fiance's grandfather thinks they were crossed with RIR, but I'm not too sure. He's an old chicken farmer, and knows how to commercially farm them, but he keeps asking me about stuff like how I can tell the one...

Question: What will happen if I breed these two... Aussie and RSL

So since I ended up with an Australorp rooster and 3 hens, and 6 RSL hens, I'm wondering what kind of chicks I'll get from the link crossing with the Aussie. I believe (but am not certain since I didn't get the hatchery's information) that my RSLs are Cinnamon Queens, which are a...

    I think I have a rooster.

Well, you could sell them, give them away, or eat them. Your call.

    I think I have a rooster.

Okay, so when I got my chicks, I tried to make sure they were all hens. But I have one that is growing a comb and all that way before the others. I got the black ones as a mystery breed. They are almost 7 weeks old, but not quite. I have red sex links, CornishXRocks, and the black ones. The...

Got them from Tractor Supply yesterday as a "mystery breed"

I got a better picture... I think it's the same chick, but I didn't do that intentionally, haha. I have 4 of this kind, 4 evil little cornish/rocks and 6 red sex links. Any other opinions? It's my new display picture.

Tractor Supply chicks, what breed ? All it said was sexed pullets. I really didn't want a rooster so

I got some Wednesday that look about the same, they're red sex links.

    Hello peeps :)

I'm from Delaware, from Kent but living in Sussex. This is my first time raising chickens, or birds of any kind, or any animals of my own (except a few dogs and a guinea pig that weren't entirely mine). I took animal classes (in the agriculture high school pathway and for pre-vet) so I...

can anyone tell me what these chicks might be?

Well, I believe the one with no feathers on it's neck is a Turken aka naked neck. They're all handsome birds though.
