    I was devastated. It was still having a bottle morning and night. Nature is so cruel sometimes. A snake ate one of my brushtail possums I had released earlier in the year too and squashed its baby in the process.

    I'm hopeful she will recover. I've read that most things die from infection after a goanna bite. A goanna is a huge type of lizard.

    Yes. We have lace monitors. One killed a wallaby Joey I had released back into the wild not long ago

    I do have her separated and will pluck the feathers in the morning. Fingers crossed. She's made it this far.

    My hen was bitten 8 days ago by a goanna. I've barged the wound in saline solution and applied an iodine spray 3 times a day. There is no smell or discharge. She is eating and poops seem normal. I'm just concerned about the green colour in her leg under the skin. It may be bruising or gangrene.

    Sorry but there's a lot of dried iodine on the feathers but you get an idea of the colour. There is no smell or discharge.

    I've only just bathed her again so don't want to stress her but will take one later.

    Looking for advice. Hen bitten on thigh 8 days ago. She's eating and droppings are fine. Skin on leg is green underneath on parts. No smell.

    No he didn't see her. It was a phone consultation as we live quite far away.

    He suggested the saline solution. Was also told it could be bruising.
