Do i let her continue to sit on her nest and figure it out. She has no other eggs to hatch at thia point. Or shoukd i place her on the roosting bar with the other hens?- AnRamire

Hey guys, need some help. 1st time ive had a chick hatch in my coop. my 1year old silkie became broody about a month ago. Of 7 eggs only one hatched last night/today. Thx Fisherlady for your response. It was getting dark so i couldnt see all eggs very well. Im hoping they are viable. Shes been on them for about 5 to 6 days.- AnRamire

Old Fashioned Broody Hen Hatch A Long and Informational Thread
Newbie question. I just came home from work tonight and found dried egg yolk on all of f the eggs my hen was on. I dont know what i should do. Do i leave them? Can i clean them with a cloth and warm water? Or has all been lost and i should just chuck them?- AnRamire

Old Fashioned Broody Hen Hatch A Long and Informational Thread
Hello all, newbie chicken owner, well not so new, have had chickens for two years. But it is the 1st time I have a broody with fertile eggs. Super excited. My black silkie has refused to move since Tuesday. She has 7 eggs under her. Crossing my fingers for a successful hatch.- AnRamire
