Hey everyone! To celebrate Apricots one month anniversary (roughly) of being with me, I've decided to write her story down, i chronological order. Enjoy!~
Apricot was first found be me, abandoned in a park, looking dirty and scared. I picked her up and took her home, washed her and fed her, and...
i don't have any other birds, and i have checked her for lice and other mites. Thank you for the tips on the location settings, i've added my location to my profile now. :)
I got Apricot at the beginning of last month, but she hasn't layed a single egg. anolg with that she is skinny and she has scaly leg mites, and she is still rather young, judging by the size of her comb. Is there anything i can do about this issue??
Okay, answers to all questions-
@micstrachan
I can't really feel her muscle , and she is very skinny. She is my only chicken as i found her abandoned.
@rebrascora
She eats chicken feed, the occasional bug that we find in the grass, and the odd vegetable, here and there. She's an easter...
I put apricot in the bathtub to wash her and treat her mites, and she pooped before i could get the water on. this is what it looked like. is this normal, or do i need a vet? (The brown stuff surrounding it is lice and mite powder)
This is my Easter Egger!
She was abandoned near my house, with poultry lice and scaly leg mites, bone thin and dirty. I took her home, named her Apricot. And here she is, just 4 days after being taken in.
Thank you so much for your welcomes!
Unfortunately I am on a budget, and I'm unable to afford a second hen, so I'll attend to her as much as possible, and make sure she's happy.
As for her breed, I think she may be an Easter Egger, but i'm not sure.
(also, just found emojis!! :thumbsup:old)
