    FLORIDA!!!!!ALWAYS SUNNY SIDE UP!!!

I forgot to mention that I got a new Rooster (Good Sheppard/Imperial Ringlet line) from The Hen House in Callahan to put over my ringlet girls. I was growing a real nice one out of that line that suffered a raccoon attack and had to be culled. I was glad Skip had a replacement to offer me. :D So...

    FLORIDA!!!!!ALWAYS SUNNY SIDE UP!!!

I got my Imperial Ringlet line from XW Poultry Ranch in Nebraska. I got my Stukel line from two separate breeders: Benjamin Heath in Georgia and Shannon Herrell (sadly I cannot remember where...) The two pullets that I offered are a x of the two lines. I have around 30 in my brooders of the...

    Euskal Oiloa ( Basque Thread)

He looks like a carbon copy of one of my roosters here in Florida, only younger and smaller. Very nice.

I would say you have a pullet and cockerel, both sporting white legs. The pullet is showing girly colors and the white bird has a pretty large comb for a pullet.

    Euskal Oiloa ( Basque Thread)

I hatched 12 Basque chicks yesterday and have 25 more eggs in the incubator. I culled out 3 matured pullets that just didn't show the size that my other gals exhibit. One had turned broody, which is a trait that I select for, but was just too small in size. They are now part of a very colorful...

    FLORIDA!!!!!ALWAYS SUNNY SIDE UP!!!

Only try to handle the babies if the sow is SECURED! If you make her babies squeal, she will come after you. I always go in slowly with a bucket and shovel. I take up the afterbirth and bury it well away from the pig enclosure. All of my pigs are friendly, but the sows will try to eat me if she...

That was supposed to be in reply to the pregnant pig. Don't know why it didn't show her post above mine!

    FLORIDA!!!!!ALWAYS SUNNY SIDE UP!!!

Looks like the ligaments at the base of her tail have loosened. Her vulva is protruding. I'd say she is due any time now. Are you going to put her in a pen on her own? I would do that and give her a shelter with dry hay underneath. Is this her first time farrowing? Natural instincts usually kick...

    Euskal Oiloa ( Basque Thread)

So very thankful that I have had zero of these leg issues with my flock. Have those of you that have had these issues tried to pin-point a common factor?
