Just wanted to share these cute feet with other chicken lovers. I ordered 4 splash Ameraucanas from cackle and didn’t expect them to keep their cute freckled feet as they matured!
Cackle allowed me to purchase only 3! I was thankful because I like to keep my flock on the small end. I just checked their website and it still says they only require a minimum of 3 to ship!
Welp. We built this for a squirrel proof garden but the girls liked it so much more than their run and I’m a pushover so I gave in. You can see I’ve moved small raised beds out of it 😂 back to the drawing board for a garden that won’t get eaten before I can enjoy any of it. For toys, they have...
So thankful for the community here! I was pretty nervous about introducing my 4 babies to my hens but looked through many forums on the best way to do it and it was shockingly so easy when they finally met each other! Thanks for the awesome resource and all of the wisdom from seasoned chicken...
My chickens will destroy any tomato plant they have access to.. leaves, stalks, tomatoes. It all gets eaten. Which is why the garden is completely caged off now. :p

I took in a chicken from a friend who had her whole flock wiped out by raccoons except for the one. I will be honest- introducing her was tough. I did the crate route where she was in a crate in their run and could see each other for a few weeks. They have since accepted her after a fair amount...
I can take pics when I get home from work! I have 3 roll outs with no bedding, all of my other girls lay in those. I set up two standard ones with straw and nesting herbs and she will go look at them but then leaves 🤪 she’s been laying about a year. She is at the bottom of the pecking order so I...
My hen Stevie will not lay in a nesting box, no matter what I try! I have 5 nesting boxes for 5 laying hens and have tried nesting herbs and fake eggs. She will go into the nesting boxes and even hang out, but then goes to the ground to lay. Are there any other tried and true tips y’all can give me?
