So the squirrels are burrowing into the coop, beyond everything meant to keep them out. BUT, they're not harming my babies. They are eating their food though. I tried mixing cayenne and cinnamon into the dirt but they dug right through it. Can I mix anything like cayenne into the little peepers...

I live in Southern California where it's currently 96° with an overnight of 69°. I've had 11 baby chicks in a wire kennel converted into a brooder, in my back room, for a week. I moved it to the patio where it's shaded all day. They're acting hot. How can i keep them cool?
