Hi spangles403
I was on this thread about 2 years ago with my chicken that had the same issue. I took her to my vet and she treated her for an ear infection. It took two rounds of antibiotics. The second round was a very strong antibiotic. If I can find the bottle I'll take a picture of it...
That is true! These eggs needed to be set ASAP anyway so whatever happens happens. My hen is doing a great job,she hasn't left the nest since I put them under her and she has spread out about as far as she can go :-) I think she knows she has a BIG job to do
I don't want to take any out! these are in a way valuable eggs that were given to me. She is covering them somewhat ok. I do have a couple of hens that have gone broody on the same couple of weeks for 3 years now That time is coming up here real soon. Just hoping for a 4th year repeat. If I did...
The eggs are 6 Welsummer and 6 BO eggs. I do not have an incubator and I just happened into these very good bloodline eggs that needed to get set immediately. Thank you so much for the information! what is good nesting material that you spoke about

Has anyone ever experienced having what appears to be a short in the positive wire. My door just quit working one day so I opened it up and checked my battery. The battery was good and then all of a sudden my light came back on and it opened. The next morning I went out and the door didn't...
Soule72- so sorry to hear about your chick! Hopefully everyone else will be ok.
I was so hoping you would find your rooster! I totally agree on the like minded people here. I get very attached to my birds and it's good to talk to people that feel the same!! It is very strange, every time I...
So do you think keeping her in a dark, isolated room was a key factor? I have been keeping my girl in a dog crate in the laundry room and it's not quiet and dark. :-). I also have been taking her outside and letting her hang out in the grass for a little bit each day. She seems to like hearing...
Thank you and I will read both those links. My feed is all good. My chickens get Purina Layena and once a week get a mix of BOSS, calf manna and scratch. They also get extras such as fresh veggies, scrambled egg and occasional yogurt and cottage cheese. About the diseases, i did have a little...
