    Tmarsh, I like that idea, if I understand you. If I made a ladder type roost (brown in this pic) and hinged it (blue) so I could swing it up for access/cleaning, would that work?

    I'm in the process of building a coop. It will be 8x16, with an 8x10 coop and 8x6 storage area. Additionally, there will be a 16x16 run. Although i will start small, ultimately I'd like to have around 10-12 layers plus a few meat birds. My questions are: most coop/run pics i see on here...
