Input on my 5.5 week RIR "pullets"

They're a bit slower to feather and that makes it hard to tell. I'll go takelook here in a bit, but I don't think there's much to see

I have 3 buff orps, 2 Australorp, 1 mystic maran, 2 rir, and 3 Barred Rocks (not pictured as they're a couple of weeks younger)

No need to apologize. I expected this to an extent going to TSC this year. I usually go through Meyer or a local, smaller "hatchery".

Oh I know it. I have never had RIRs and got two for my mixed flock. Of course they both have big old pink combs. If you look close at the 2nd Pic and zoom in, you can tell 1 even has red waddles!

Input on my 5.5 week RIR "pullets"

Hello BYC! Been a while since I've posted, as my original flock was very established, happy and thriving until a couple of very determined farm dogs got through our beautiful set up. Anyway, after years of lurking for my answers I have a question! Do you think my two TSC "pullet" Rhode Island...

    Ham shanks ok for chickens?

It's really not that salty. I pulled a bit of meat off it and tried it. I know salt can be a concern, but there's salt even in most feeds. Not to mention they seem to find things that chickens "shouldn't" be eating in the garden and farm fields while they're free ranging anyway lol. They seem...

    Ham shanks ok for chickens?

I usually give my give my girls some sort of scraps (carrot peelings, celery greens, lettuce scraps, apple peelings, fruit that is beginning to get mushy, bits of cooked chicken, left over scrambled eggs, etc). Not so much that it's unhealthy, but I'll toss some out to them every few days in the...

    Dry fowl pox? Help!

@Wyorp Rock wanted to give you an update (and for anyone else who is a first year chicken keeper who stumbled on this). Turns out you were right about new feathers. About a week after this post new feathers came up all over on the two blue Aussies faces. Then they lost almost all neck feathers...

    Dry fowl pox? Help!

Could it be favus? I've never heard of that until about 20 minutes ago. I started looking for more information on here and I'm thinking maybe that's it? Could something in my coop cause this?

    Dry fowl pox? Help!

I've circled and drawn arrows to what is concerning me. The circled area in the first photo is raised and white. A lump. It's beginning to look crusty/flaky. In the second photo, the arrow pointing to the comb is a slightly raised scab. The other arrow pointing to above the eye and running...

    Dry fowl pox? Help!

That's chicken #2 with it, Soup. The chicken I originally posted of is getting bigger bumps that are just starting to scab. Her name is Noodle.

    Dry fowl pox? Help!

They're still eating and drinking fine, and out and about in the yard (despite the snow). Don't see any signs with eye or respitory issues

    Dry fowl pox? Help!

It's getting more pronounced. I just saw it early and had a feeling that's what it was. The white spots are starting to get black scab looking things now, and more spots are coming in. Hoping it stays mild, but I spend a lot of time around my girls so I notice little changes. If there was...

    Dry fowl pox? Help!

Yes those scabs and the white looking spot above her eye. It's raised. The other one has the same thing. By her eye and a few on the comb. If it will resolve on its own then I'll just leave them be and clean out bedding materials. Thank you for the link.
