I plan to try that. They tend to chase the kids more than they come after me. They have not hurt anyone yet. It’s usually only if someone is heading into or near the hen house.
We have 2 Houdan roosters about 6-7 months old that have started to get aggressive. I had read they were a gentle breed and safe for children, so I was surprised. Anyone know how bad they can hurt a person or even a small child? I was just really bummed when they started being buttheads. My 2...
Thank you. I did lance it and get out as much stuff as I could. I even had someone with more experience look at her and not get any more pus out but her toe is still extremely swollen on both sides. I am praying it gets better. I am still doing her daily (sometimes twice daily) soaks and...

We are going on about a week of treating possible bumble foot with Epsom soaks, wound spray and antibiotic ointment. It actually looks slightly more swollen than it did before. I am not sure how long it takes to heal or what more we need to do. The first 2 pics are a week ago and last 2 from...

This is Snuggles and she has scissor beak. She is smaller than her sister and her crest feathers are not as soft and healthy. Is there a supplement or something I can do to help her maintain a healthy weight and healthy feathers? And what is the best thing to use on her for baths? Her feathers...
I kind of wondered. Any ideas what we need to do for her? I cleaned her feet and put ointment on it. We kept her inside for a half hour before I carried her back to the coop for the night.
