Well unfortunately only 6 out of 11 eggs I put into lockdown hatched. I'm thinking this might be my fault due to careless placement of the incubators... The desk they're on is in front of a window AC unit, and also next to the washing machine - I noticed a day or two before lockdown that the...
My chicks started pipping Saturday night and one finally popped out yesterday evening. Woke up this morning to two more! And I actually got pictures this time:
Looks like a black and two blues so far! Eight eggs left, most of which have pipped.
I have some ameraucana eggs in the regular October HAL already, so I think for this one I will set some of my leghorn eggs. They're covered by a back-crossed 'olive egger' rooster, and I need to find out what egg color genetics he's carrying.

These are the first I've hatched for myself in a very long time due to having a baby last year...
Well, my hatch is complete. 9/11 eggs hatched! Of course I had hoped for all eleven.
One ameraucana egg never even pipped, and one marans egg pipped but never zipped. I did open the air cell on the marans just to make sure it wasn't alive and stuck in there. I don't have the heart to really...
I realized that my brooder heater fits perfectly inside an insulated HelloFresh box :D and I have a car power adapter. So these little ones will be under the heater until we get to the meetup point, and then switch to a smaller insulated box - I picked up some excelsior from the craft store...
I will definitely get NPIP certified when the time comes, I just feel I am not there yet. I am very much small time, only have 19 adult birds currently. Once I feel ready to expand, then I would want to be able to ship eggs or have customers from Texas, or wherever. For now I'm actually happy...
