I think it’s too early to tell, I have a three month old chocolate Orpington that I’m still not sure of its gender. I’m also new to chickens so there’s that!
Hello all! Florida native in Homosassa here. I was wondering if anyone has Wyandotte chicks? Or speckled Sussex and barred rocks. Looking to add some different colors to my flock! Thanks.
I unfortunately have nothing to add to this post, only that I am a newbie chicken keeper and really want to add some wyandottes to my flock! I have three three month olds right now (mystery but suspected chocolate Orpington and blue australorps) and have a 14 x 16 covered run and a quite...
I just thought I would update this thread with the coop completed. Sadly I lost one of the four so I now only have three, but I plan on adding more (of course). The run is 16 x 14.
I started out with natures best and then switched to click and co mostly because I got twice as much for a couple more dollars. My chickens are about twelve weeks old now so I upgraded them to an all flock pellet but they did well on both and now are my triple B’s (Big Beautiful Birds).
I had a couple magpies some years ago and they’re my favorite kind of ducks that I’ve had. Which includes pekins, Rouen, saxony, now I have some Swedish/cayuga crosses. The magpies were so sweet. Good luck with your little ones, get them swimming in the tub! Mine love it and I sprinkle some...
I ended up removing mine and did so for the rest as they hatched. It was too humid inside the incubator and they were not drying off, or have the room to stand. I also didn’t have any shelf liner so it was slippery for them to stand. This worked out for me but it was my first time, I am by no...
I’m a first time hatcher and I had similar issues (also an amazon incubator called sailnova) my ducks didn’t hatch til day 30-31 and I had to assist with chipping away at the shell. All had issues with standing up and raising their heads but with a little time they are all perfect little...
The babies are all moving and doing well, thank goodness. I was worried even after hatching they’d be too weak, they all struggled initially getting around but they’re all acting like normal ducklings now.
I bought them online from Etsy and the seller told me her flock consisted of khaki Campbell, black Swedish, and Cayuga so based off of that I would say no. But I didn’t supply them myself so who really knows?
I just wanted to update and say that with my assistance four of the five ducks have successfully hatched. When I got home from work one had hatched, and it was much more vibrant than the first duck. When I put it in the brooder, the first hatcher immediately picked up and within no time they...
I made an executive decision and took it out of the incubator. The humidity was too high for it to dry, and it just kept slipping. There really wasn’t head room for it to stand either. I have a Rubbermaid with a heat light and hay, but I put a wash cloth over the hay for grip. Within minutes it...
