    cleaning my coop

I was cleaning my coop weekly. Scrapping all the Pooh and straw out and putting fresh straw down. Then I talked to the man I got my EE's from. He said cuz its getting close to winter, I shouldn't take the messy straw out. Just put fresh straw on top to build up a nice thick layer to help...

    ???organic???

Yeah, the bag didn't say anything. It was completely white. This store mixes their own feed. I seem to remember my friend saying it was organic and I'm pretty sure she said it was complete. I don't know why, but I feel better feeding them crumble. I'll have to check around for afordable organic...

    Garden just for the Chickens

My chickens love my grape vine but I think that tomatoes are their absolute favorite thing to snack. They also like acorn swash but it was cooked. Going to give them some baked sweet potato tomorrow : )

    ???organic???

You hit the nail right on the head. My friend brought me a bag of what she was told was organic. However, it was 90% cracked corn and some powder stuff. I didn't like it. My chickens ate the corn and left all the powder. I really did not like it. Today I bought a bag of Purina chicken crumble. I...

chickens make rooster noises right? :)

I have 12 what I thought were chickens, and two roosters. Then out of the blue one of my EE's started making rooster noises. She is small, thinner and has a larger comb than the other EE's but there's nothing fancy about her. She looks just like a hen??? Tell me what you think.

who's the better mama, me or the chicken?

One more quick question. Am I just crazy? Should I just go out and buy pullets in the spring? I know that's two questions but you can disregard the first one. I already know I'm crazy.

whiskey for my men, fish for my chicken

Ok, so I read that chickens really love tuna and other canned fish. My son and I have been crawfdad fishing for the past few day, and occasionally we catch a small fish. Do you think my chickens would eat raw fish? Will to much fish make the eggs taste fishy? Can raw fish give them worm?(maybe I...
