    Silkie with Prolapse

It is very possible that you didn't push the prolapsed oviduct back in far enough and it may be blocking part of the cloaca. I had a hen that prolapsed around 7 months old and she naturally pushed it back out a few times. You might have to glove up again, but I'm no expert

    Silkie - Abnormal Maturity?

I'm hoping this is the correct discussion group. We have raised Silkies for some time and have always purchased from private breeders (eastern northern states). Every silkie we have raised and/or hatched has always matured at 5 months or a little later. Based on their characteristics and...

    Will He Fertilize Their Eggs?

Where can I get something like this!! I homeschool my grandson and in the past our hens hatched the eggs, but I wanted to add a few to our incubator for his argiculture studies and this would be amazing!

None of my chickens will go into the coop at night!

This is the coop. When I first moved them to it, we left them in the coop for 4 days before letting them out. Then the heat wave came so we let them out, they do their normal chicken stuff during the day, they go up and down the ramp, they sit (rare) sometimes on that roost bar, they will go...

None of my chickens will go into the coop at night!

When we first moved them to the coop, I left them in the coop for 4 days w/ food and water. After that we let them out in the morning, they would come down the ramp that we lifted a bit and made stairs with bricks to help. Now that they are not in the coop I keep their water/food in the run...

None of my chickens will go into the coop at night!

We have 6 Silkie Bantams (range from 4 - 10 weeks old). They all love to be outside in the run. The older chicks keep to themselves as do the younger ones, but they do interact w/ each other and have established pecking order. They all sleep cuddled up to one another in the one corner of the...

My chicks are almost 4 weeks old and I still crush up their mealworms. I can't get chick grit in the stores here atm (completely out of stock). So I have been hesitant on giving them anymore but chick starter

    Confused/Help

My 3 chicks are doing quite well actually. I'm seeing good growth in their wings, and 2 are getting bum fluff, they are stretching their necks up higher and stretch their legs out. They run quite fast, those little buggers. I was trying to find out online around what age they can start jumping...

    Confused/Help

I'm sorry :( Are you giving them the Corid both in their water and a dose orally? I sent a message to the person I purchased my silkies from expressing my concerns and requested a refund and she did nothing but place the blame on me. I even asked if I brought the chicks to a vet to prove it was...
