    Identity breed from Meyer Hatchery

Definitely looks the same, Id guess Road Island Red. However, I wonder which of those chicks is the girl and which is the boy? I’m not convinced that your EE is a girl. You might have it backwards. Keep an eye on them. 😁 Enjoy your new birds!

    Identity breed from Meyer Hatchery

That might be true. Meyer has red sex link, I believe.

Good to know! Thank you for your reply! We did sign up for the free rooster, so likely he is a boy.

    Identity breed from Meyer Hatchery

I would greatly appreciate some help identifying this chick’s breed, from the professionals at BYC. 😁 I think he or she may be our free chick. We had one road island red in the batch and she didn’t have near as much white on her.

    Please help with Gender

Thanks for your input! Glad for any other input as well. I will try to post updates. We are hoping for pullets, roosters go to our Hispanic friends who like "rooster noodle soup" At least they serve a purpose.

Eggs were shipped to Council Bluffs, IA. (Near Omaha, NE) From Michigan. They were shipped out on Tuesday and my post office called me on Thursday. I went and picked them up there, otherwise they would have been delivered the next day. Meyer Hatchery packaged them perfectly as you can see in...

Can I switch eggs from a pro series 4250 to NR360?

Hello, I am not super impressed with the Pro Series 4250. I would like to move the eggs to a new Nurture Right 360. You would likely know the Pro Series has the eggs upright and the NR360 would have the eggs on their side. The eggs will be 10 days incubated when I make the move. Is Switching...

If anyone is following this. ALL 25 eggs from Meyer Hatchery were fertile!!!!!!! On day 7 ALL are forming just fine! I am amazed. I have three extra in my Nurture Right 360 that I am turning by hand because I expected several to not be fertile. I guess when it comes to shipping eggs Meyer...

Shipped Eggs Meyer Hatchery! Which end is the top?

The air cell doesn’t move at all. So that’s good. We will put it up. Wonder if mailing it upside down for 3 days hurt it at all?

Shipped Eggs Meyer Hatchery! Which end is the top?

We were very pleased with our eggs from Meyer Hatchery. With one egg that came it was very hard to tell which end was the pointy end. We candled it and think the air cell is in the opposite end of the side that Meyer hatchery marked as the top. What do you think?
