    Duck Takes Flight!

I only clip when there is a problem, but even if I had to do them all (23 currently), it really isn't all that tough.

    Watering ducks advice.

Try this to conserve bedding and reduce smells: put your waterer in a shallow container (like a cafeteria tray) on top of the bedding. You can add some folded newspapers in the tray to help soak up the water.

    WORMING DUCKS~Who Does/Doesn't Do It

I have never wormed my duck flock in 12+ yrs here in the NE.. never had any problems. Some of my birds are 12 yrs old! My rationale: They will always be exposed to worms/parasite when they free-range but due to the quantity of water they drink they continually flush-out their systems. This...

    Metzer Farms quality...

Holderreads = show duck quality, bred for conformation to std. Metzer = production duck quality, bred for balance in appearance and produtivity. I would buy H's if the intention is to show or breed.

Mother ducks trampling ducklings? I can only hatch males???

I have been raising ducks for 12+ yrs. I had kept females only for many years. After getting a couple of males, I had tried twice to allow some of the broody girls (once a crested and once a khaki) to hatch some eggs. One both occasions, multiple eggs hatched but several ducklings were...

What is or has been your LONGEST/OLDEST living duck??

I have 4 ducks that were born May 3, 1999... so that makes them 11yrs- 8mo right now. One is swedish, 2 are fawn runners, and 1 is a black runner. Its funny to see that they have all turned primarily white now, we call them our "old ladies".
