Rehabbing an injured (possibly blinded) hen

Yes, she will need to be separated from the flock. They will pick on her if you don't...pecking order, hen pecked, broody hen. Chickens can be brutal. I have a blind Peahen(Peacock), I currently have her with an old hen, and several young chickens(about 3 months old). Your question is...

    I have a blind chicken

Chicks that are old enough to run away and tolerate different climates, but still looking for a momma or really old hens that are docile, either way you will have to pay attention to how they get along. Not sure this helps. It's trial and error. You just have to pay attention to how they get along.

    Grieving girl

How old were they? Peafowl reach sexual maturity at 3 years. When they hit that they wander for a mate, some will mate with turkeys. You can keep them with chickens for company, but they will look for their own. If you let them free range after 3 and they don't have a have a mate, they will...

    Sick Peahen

So I'm not sure of her weight, I still have her. The vet could not find anything wrong with her, but there is no vet in my area trained to deal with Peafowl. They did X-rays, hydration, worm test, and blood work. Nothing showed up. I kept her separate inside during the winter, then moved her in...

They Hydrated her, x-rayed her, did a fecal and blood work. nothing stood out. I have had her in a small cage in my garage for about a...

Peafowl… a good or bad idea?!

Not sure about turkeys, but I have had my peafowl for 5 years housed with my chickens and they do fine...other than the noise during mating season. they watch over the chickens and have protected them from hawks as well.

I have had chicken and peafowl living together that do well. I just added meat birds(broilers and now turkeys) . any advice?

My chickens and peafowl have been doing well together for over 5 years. I just got broilers and turkey(both for meat) I have the meat chickens separate from everyone and just got the meat turkeys. Should I keep them all separate? Is blackhead disease that prominent and if I put them with peafowl...
