I should post a video of my girls running at me when they see me - They stop doing whatever they are doing and run as fast as they can towards me. If I am outside they get on my feet, jump up on my lap or just follow me around...They love to just hang out with me or any other human really...
I took the expected life of the coop at 15 years and divided the cost to make it and divided it to get the yearly cost; took that figure and divided it by 12 months, them by 365 for days to get a daily cost for the coop.

Anyone who has chickens have their own entertainment network! They are funny to watch their antics...they are always doing something. I can't imagine how life is for battery hens - too sad to even think about actually....
I too feel bad for chickens raised in those conditions. Watching how chickens interact, forage and run around is only half the fun of owning them. I think we get the better end of the bargain because having those golden yolked eggs are simply delicious and packed with all kinds of healthy...
I am with you there! When figuring out costs, you might as well include everything because as we all know, nothing in life worth having is ever truly free.
