Has any one ever hatched ducks and chickens in the same batch? I have been offered some duck eggs to put in with my polish eggs. Any tips for pulling this off ?
These are full grown but my friend has no idea what they are. Her sons bought them.

So looking up on feather sexing if the wing tip has two feather sizes its female, if they are the same size it male right? Can ALL kinds be feather sexed? I have americanas, and D'uccles. 13 of my 16 americanas are male according to this type of sexing.
I would love any advice on this.

do you leave them up right for hatch? I have a carton style turner and I was wondering about that the other day. what would happen if I just turned off the turner instead of taking them out and laying them flat?

I have started to feather sex my chicks this year, and I am rather pissy about it. My first hatch I only had 2 females out on 15 chicks, this most recent hatch ( 2 days old ) I have 19 males and only 7 females.
I would like to think that I am wrong about it but...
I wish it was warmer where I am. I want fuzzy butts lol. And all this chick talk is making me want to start NOW. Im going to try sexing my chicks this year as well. Fingers crossed that my birds can be feather sexed.
Last year I set mine at 100 everything went fine, but I ended up with lots of roo's. Im going to try lower temps this year just for kicks to see if I get more hens. ( I know thats more than likely not the case but hey can't hurt to try)

Im excited to see the size of the birds when mixed. I have fair sizedAmeraucana hens and the bcm male is only 5 months and bigger than my Ameraucana male thats over one.
i got these bcm hatching eggs by fluke. Im sure glad i did now the ones i have are very big, my one male is very friendly and is becoming more a pet. I butchered some of the other males and had most of the weigh in at 5lbs after butcher. cant wait to do more of this breed and mix some of my...
