I am from Montana, grew up in Montana. My mother is a veterinarian, my family were homesteaders in Montana from towards the end of the Homesteader days. They settled in the harshest parts of the last open lands in Montana, my mom came from the high line, my dad came from central Montana near the Little Snowies. I grew up half in the modern world and half in the cowboy world, my dad loves computers, electronics, sci fi, but he was raised a cowboy. I grew up helping my mother in the veterinary clinic, learning much of my husbandry from that. I started raising chickens in 1990 when I was given some chickens by a neighbor. I have been hatching and breeding poultry for about 15 years now. My family settled near Billings because there are more jobs there since it is the hub of agricultural trade in Montana.
