Sorry I wasn't more specific last night, but you are going to want a soluble powder to put in his water. It is called tetracycline hydrochloride AKA Duramycin. It is made by DurVet and is found in a bag or tub, you will likely want the 10 gram bags since you are only treating the one duck.
It is very likely that it hurts him to eat. Again I would highly suggest only giving fresh water until at least morning when it has had time to scab over completely or you will risk infection. Being just the tip, it shouldn't be a permanent problem as long as it is taken care of properly...
EDIT: I see that you stopped the bleeding. If you have the ability to post a picture I can try to help and we can tell the severity of the situation. .
I would not feed any food for 24 hours to prevent food from getting into the open wound.
The next step is to keep him hydrated and prevent...
Get a bag of good old Food-Grade Diatomaceous Earth/ Fossil Shell Flour. It is a natural but very effective way to get rid of worms. Mix some into their feed and also sprinkle it around the coop where the chickens like to congregate. Most importantly---wear a respirator! This stuff is made out...
Aw, Poor Baby!
IF YOU CAN, I would keep her on a soft fabric bedding (such as a clean towel) in a separate cage to keep any bedding particles from irritating it while she is laying down, and change it often. Since you are taking her to the vet tomorrow I don't really recommend any treatment...
Oh, I do have pet chickens-two hens and a rooster, all three of them bantam breeds- but she wants them strictly outside because of ONE instance where I brought in an injured hen and she started crowing! I may convince her yet!
I love the idea of a cockateil---I actually would like a pet that I...

Never really been a big fan of fully-flying birds like finches or budgies. As you said nice ones are hard to find, especially in this middle-of-nowhere town where the nearest pet store is over an hour a way (which is petco, btw....won't go there...) They are just too high energy, zippy...

Are the females noisy as well? Couldn't I just get two females?

Thank you for the breed suggestion! I did not know that different breeds were noisier than others. I was looking into Diamond Doves but unfortunately there aren't any breeders around here.
I am thinking of entering the world of quail with some button quail. I have read CyberQuail's website, but I still have so many questions to ask before I am ready, and would like several people's real-time, experienced input. So, here it goes:
1. How loud are they as room-mates?
2. I have...
Updated with a new picture of my Rooster---looks a LOT different than the first picture, this one is a lot more accurate, might actually be a different chicken in the first picture, lol. Any ideas? :)
So sorry for your loss!
I would ask a vet or university to do a necropsy on your most recent loss, and have them checked for blackhead. It can spread fast and wipe out an entire flock. If you have the stomach to handle it, you can perform a necropsy yourself. You need to have the liver checked...
You are on the right track. Keep her hydrated if you can, and add unflavored electrolytes to her water to help get her re-hydrated. If an egg burst inside of her she may need antibiotics! Look up Egg Peritonitis...
I am sorry for your loss. Rats can definitely squeeze in small areas, and they love chicks as well as eggs. If they have a den nearby, they may take it back to the nest and 'share'. Snakes are also amazing at squeezing into inconceivably small cracks--- and swallowing up babies leaving little trace.
