is backyard chickens dying out or am I just SOL?

I live in the northeastern US. I post at different times of day though. I’ve posted in the middle of the night, morning, afternoon, right when I get home from work, and I’ve still had pretty crummy luck.

I’ve used frontline before, and I was planning on that! I more so meant what can I spray inside the house(like on furniture, etc.) that wouldn’t harm my cat!

is backyard chickens dying out or am I just SOL?

Is this website dying out? Last year I had to come on here several times for issues with my chickens(I was a new coop mom, so every little thing scared me) but I ALWAYS got responses super fast. Like at least three in just minutes. Now I have to wait hours for even one response, and sometimes...

I think my barred rock is dying, please help

I’m also not sure if anyone would know this.. but how can I get rid of the bird mites in a safe way for my cat? I need to spray inside my house, but don’t want to use permethrin inside and have my cat risk being poisoned. Any tips???

I think my barred rock is dying, please help

I’m not sure that it’s an egg blockage, because she’s made it well over 48 hours at this point… is there a way she can survive longer with that condition? Her crop is emptying normally, she’s still eating and drinking normally.. I don’t have those tablets, but I have tums.. should I try tums or...

I think my barred rock is dying, please help

Hello! I desperately need help. I have a Barred Rock that I believe is laying internally, and I don’t know what to do. I discovered she wasn’t doing well when I picked her up and her abdomen was as hard as a softball. I tried to feel around in her vent, and I’m honestly not sure what I felt. The...

    Egg mites?? Egg bound hen??

Oh yeah, about the leghorn?? I did see those responses, they were very helpful. She’s all better and laying again :) I definitely think I screwed up using the artificial light, and I hope I don’t lose my BR because of it.

    Egg mites?? Egg bound hen??

there was only one, I was hoping to get a few more suggestions. She is. They're not huge poops, but she's pooping. They're a bright green color and pretty gnarly smelling. More than usual.

    Egg mites?? Egg bound hen??

I can’t right now, as I’m at work.. but I will definitely try when I get home, as long as all is well. What makes me especially nervous is I think this has been going on for longer than 48 hours, as she was having trouble with her vent being extremely messy a few weeks ago. I’ll get the spray...

    Egg mites?? Egg bound hen??

Hello all. Recently I posted about a leghorn I had who was exhibiting signs of being egg bound, and was laying soft shelled eggs. After an epsom salt bath and some calcium, she was laying eggs again and is back to her usual self. Another one of my chickens, a BR, is now seeming quite bound up...

What’s wrong with my leghorn?? **WARNING: GRAPHIC IMAGES**

Thank you! I felt around and there wasn’t anything in her vent, fortunately. I gave her a tums and an epsom salt bath on Sunday and since then she seems to be feeling a ton better. No drooping wings, no puffed out feathers, her vent isn’t swollen, and she has lots of energy!

What’s wrong with my leghorn?? **WARNING: GRAPHIC IMAGES**

She’s definitely the one that was laying shell less eggs, I pulled one from her vent that she couldn’t fully pass on her own. I’m thinking the straining to lay soft shelled eggs is what caused her vent to swell. I have her an epsom salt bath on Sunday, and gave her a TUMS. Since then she’s been...
