    Update - I looked at the local pigeon fanciers club and the closest member has the following breeds: Norwich cropper, fantail, archangel, Modena. I think this one is possibly an archangel???

    We can order off Amazon.com but definitely more expensive than Amazon.ca - shipping (my prime acct not transferable to US) and we have to pay import fees and horrible exchange rates.

    Per original post, she is on layer pellets plus free choice oyster shell. The issue does not seem to be related to calcium deficiency.

    Yes she is eating the oyster shells. Her eggs are typically excellent quality and have really nice thick shells. This seems to be more of an issue with overproduction or hypermotility/decreased transit time of the eggs. She lays almost daily but has occasional days where she lays 3 (!) eggs...

    I did try on 3 separate days to leave her inside and see if she would eventually give in and find her way out. However she went until 3-4pm without moving an inch and I put her out to get food and water before it was time to go back in. She was famished and parched each time of course.
