Wild rescue Mallard laying almost 20 eggs?!

Ah! She does look a bit different for sure. Should I just keep the eggs there in the nest then? I don't want her to over do it! Since she doesn't have a mate, she might keep going? hmmm

Huh! Thought it was different from wild and domestic. I just presumed wild ones didn't lay as much as from what I read online...but what do I know!

Wild rescue Mallard laying almost 20 eggs?!

Yeah apparently she is!! For the meantime, we’re keeping her as a “pet” but will be getting another female friend soon once I move to my new house! Can probably only have 2max for the moment anyway! I was just wondering if a lot of eggs above the normal “target” range was a good thing or not...

Wild rescue Mallard laying almost 20 eggs?!

Wild rescue Mallard laying almost 20 eggs?!

She is currently in our care and is fine for now but I am aware of the laws for sure. An I should have been clear that she laid these eggs once a day since the last egg. Not all at once. And This Mallard was not taken, but she waddled up to us actually from the middle of a bush. The mother did...
