Our broody hen hatched its first egg yesterday. Several more under her that I will leave for another week or so. So exciting she was successful!
Our incubator has only 6 more days! 25 good looking eggs still.
Just candled our incubator eggs. 25 out of 27 have embryos! Today is Day 7.
We haven't checked on the hens eggs, they should be hatching in about a week though. I think shes hiding 4 or 5 under her.
Hello all! We just placed some eggs today. Also have some under a hen outside that should hatch in about 2 weeks!
Placed 18 RIR eggs and 9 barnyard mix.
So its been a week since the eggs were placed. On day 8 now. We candeled them yesterday and found 4 that looked unfertile or just not growing. Leaving them in with the rest untill day 10 though to be sure. All the others look great!

Welcome and thanks for visiting. We are just getting into the hatching game and have been raising chickens for a couple years now.
We placed 14 of our own flocks eggs and 13 from another farm nearby. We have 6 young roosters that free range with 35+ hens. Not sure what our fertility rate is...
We just received our incuview in the mail the other day and I currently have it set up for testing before we set next week.
I am curious what the little plug on the top is for. Vent? hole to add water? idk?
also on the main screen it reads the temp and HTR below that with a %.... what is...

Just recieved our incubator today (incuview)! Gonna run it for a few days to see how it tests then planning to set on the full moon next week, the 19th.
We are going to set 15 of our own eggs, barnyard mix of dark egg layers, easter/olive eggers and a couple Andalusian. Also setting 12...
