She is a Hyline brown hen, I was warned that since she is a hybrid made to lay eggs she wouldn’t last more than a few years. I will try to pick up some wormer tomorrow after work! I didn’t smell anything unsual when I tried to smell her breath but I will keep an eye on the crop. Thanks a lot!

Yesterday morning I noticed one of my chickens had started acting odd, she is unwilling to move and seems to be in pain. She does eat and drinks but isn’t too interested in food. I isolated her to have a closer look at her behaviour and droppings and this is what they look like. What could this be?

Baby toys would be a good idea since they are a pecky bunch and rearrenging the coop would be a good idea too! Thanks a lot

They are a diverse bunch made of finnish chickens, hyline browns, araucanas, marans mixes, bantam pekins and faverolles. They enjoy free ranging very much but i am worried about their feet freezing. Putting wood chips or hay on top of the snow would be an interesting idea!

What are some activities to keep my chickens happy for a long winter? :)

If my math is correct it should be about 13 weeks old, I have also an another one that looks quite different. A white one with a straight tail feathers and the tuft on the head is smaller too.

Actually I haven’t seen her but my father and brother saw her few days and told me about her but it’s true I haven’t seen her myself in person. If I am able to get her I’ll ask my local breeder to come help me check for signs of illness and other things that I might miss since I haven’t done...
