    Dead hen... died with symtoms but it happened quickly

    The same thing happened to my hen, she was fine with no signs of being sick and that evening she was staggering and her head fell to one side. I haven't a clue what was wrong with her. Sadly she had to be put down. I could tell she was suffering. Does anyone know what causes this?

    Why is my Orpington sleeping too much?

    I just found out that my chicken isn't blind or had a heat stroke, she had a virus that causes her to sleep a lot, can't keep her ballance, staggers, droopy wings and her organs would shut down. Sadly she had to be put down. I didn't want her to suffer.

    My Orpington is in the house, she can't stay outside. I got under the ac vent and turned her with her back in my palm and held her head with my fingers she loved it, she fell asleep like that. I'm sure she gets hot underneath there.

    Why is my Orpington sleeping too much?

    This is my first time raising chicks. My three month Orpington is sleeping too much, she sleeps next to her water dish and in my arms as I hold her. I heard they don't do well in the summer heat. Any advice would be helpful.
