I am very new to raising chickens, I bought a coop and 6 chickens from a guy down the street from me, the coop is set up for deep litter and I like it so far, but want to know how can you tell it's working or not working??
Do I...
So as the title states. My coop is set up for deep litter method and I've just recently found out that chicken manure is hot, so not sure how to cool things down for use in my vegetable/flower gardens.
I'm new to the whole back yard chickens and living it so far.
So I'm new to back yard chickens, less than a week.
The question I have is should I feed my chicken with a gravity feeder in their coop? Or should I just throw it out in their run?
Thanks for the input.
Yes. #3 is behind the white bird in the new photo.
How can you tell? What are some of the things you look for to tell the difference?
Thanks for your help.
So I bought six chickens of my buddies neighbor whoa was moving, I live in the city so they are supposed to be all hens.
The last photo will be a dark reddish brown chicken that crows every morning at 6:00 am could it be a rooster?
Thanks for any help on my girls.
