    Breed?

Thank you for your responses, was hoping they weren't cockerels as neither have showed any signs of crowing or attempts to mate/ assert dominance etc and they're coming up 7 months

    Breed?

I got these birds as chicks once a local school had completed an incubator project, they were locally sourced eggs but i don't know the breed. They all looked the same (3 in total) but 2 now look very different from the third. Rather large birds but very gentle and curious. The second photo...

    Late chick Help Please!!

maintain temperature and humidity as you normally would. Resist helping it, that will only dry out the membrane. i personally have had chicks hatch until day 27 and they survived. if it is too weak then the sad reality is it won't survive anyway.

    Someone is attempting to crow!

Wouldn't have thought it would be ideal with 6 hens. There's always surprises, they may be very docile and have enough room and hens each. I've done it once and instantly regretted it but managed to save the little one before any damage can be done. This is my long answer of saying no but it...

Day old duck pecked by hen

Don't beat yourself up, its all about making mistakes and learning. As you said, keep it warm and quiet with constant access to water (which isn't deep just in case). For the open wounds i personally use an antiseptic cream to keep it clean, or you can use pet safe disinfectant with warm water...
