(XP on raising baby chicks!)
My chicks are about a 1 month old and they keep kicking pine shavings into their water and feed dishes. It is driving me CRAZY. I am having to clean them out multiple times a day, and its wasting so much feed/water/vitamins/etc. Not only is it a PAIN to clean all...

Is the chicken coop near her house? I mean, its seems like with 4 acres, it would be far enough away to not hear any roosters.
In all honesty though, I am not happy when my neighbors get roosters either. I live in the suburbs, so not exactly the same, but even down the street I can hear...
lol, did you have a different picture up before? This one shows the spot better, the other one made it look like it was on the front.
Yes, I did, lol. I realized it wasn't very clear once it was in the post, so I took another and uploaded that one instead! Sorry to be confusing!!
had to edit the other one was confusing
You should use periods and commas, and capitalize the first letter of each new sentence. Makes it much less confusing, and you will probably get more replies to your posts if they are more understandable.
Are you sure its not it's crop?
Well, its on the back, like where the shoulder would be located, above her wing. Isn't the crop in the front of the neck? Plus, this bubble is almost translucent. There is no food in there.
Dh noticed it last night, its soft and squishy, there are no feathers on it. It seems to be filled with air. I've read a bunch of threads on things like this, but they all have varying answers. Is this always a symptom of it being hurt? My kids (10 and 8) were handling them a few days ago, but...

So about 9:30 I am in the shower and I think "Hmmm, wasn't I going to meet someone special today? Now who was it? It was someone I hadn't seen in person before...someone on Facebook? No....hmmm.....OMG!!!! BYC coffee!!!" Dumb me!!! I totally slept in. I guess I like my Saturday mornings too...
Is it possible to pick out the chicks that hold more to the standard and would be good show chickens? Or is it basically a crap shoot at this age?
If it is possible, is there a website that has pictures and descriptions of the markings and shapes, etc to check for?
TT1- thanks for the pics...I think Ive got them sorted out now! The gray/black chipmunks are the SLW, the red/brown chipmunks w/ red tip beaks are SS, the black with yellow spot on head are PR, the ones with green colored on their heads are CM, and the ugly odd leftovers are the "Ameraucanas"...
Let's meet at Coffee Rush, 8am, Baseline and Gilbert. Right off the freeway, next to PetCo, across the street from Trader Joes; can combine errands!
I'll be there for sure this time! Excited to meet you guys!!
