    Wintering Quail on The Ground Advice?

    How should I go about wintering my quail pen? Will they be ok if I just throw a tarp over them or rig up some kind of tent structure? I’m mostly worried about them getting buried under snow, but I’m in Canada so we can get -30C.

    Brown Eye Mottling

    Recently got some 3 month old Ameraucana and noticed some mottling in their eye, 2/3 have this. Was wondering if it’s something for concern or just genetic. Doesn’t really look like the mareks examples I’ve seen. Thanks.

    I thought the same, too low? When they’re not roosting their tails are more upwards. They came from a woman who bought a fertilized dozen— 4/12 hatched from mint green eggs, she wanted blue layers, assuming they would lay green like the eggs they came from she sold them.
