    Yeah, I think an egg broken inside her might have killed her, or possibly the infection on the inside that I couldn't clean.

    I took off so many maggots, I cleaned the area, put neosporin on it, dried her of, got her to eat and drink. She didn't make it through the night.

    Thanks, I started another thread called "Worms Or Cocci?" because I thought I had it narowed down to those, but now I am quite sure it is flystrike, as I can see the maggots writhing around her cloaca. I just don't know how to get them all off!

    Thank you all so much for helping! I read about flystrike and it seems probable. Tomorrow I will clean her. Can I clip some of the gross feathers off? Or will they bleed?     She turned a year old at the end of July, she does lay pretty regularly, I haven't seen her poop, although the feathers below her vent are wet with runnyish poop.
