I agree on most points, the Gamo was a mistake on my part and you are right about why it is inaccurate. I bought the heaviest .177 pellets I could find to try and help, and it maybe does some, but I haven't found it to help a lot.
On the noise, the supersonic Gamo is louder than a .22 low...
Thought I would update due to timing and having a broodie hen we had agreed on 7 Svart Hona eggs, week in the hen pushed two out of the nest, I found them cold but candled and saw development so I put them back under. Well sofar 5 have hatched and one more is working on it.
Hen (silkie) is...
My broody silkie is sitting a little too tight concerned for her health, can't see any evidence she has left the nest since I put the Svart Hona eggs under her Tuesday.
When she was in the regular coop with the other girls she would at least get up and eat if I sprinkled scratch or table scraps.
Been years since I drove any farm equipment, heck years for any forklift even. Maybe it is good I got it before I cut the lawn this year so I don't have the foot pedal drive habit yet for the season.
Maybe I should have the wife video me trying to learn to drive it for comedy sake.........
I arranged for a Bobcat rental this weekend, BlueLine in Neenah is dropping it off tomorrow so I can "play" all weekend. Need to regrade some spots around the garage never done right when the garage was built, and want to level a spot for the kids pool this year, regrade some stump holes left...
Today I put 7 Svart Hona eggs under our broody white silkie in a dog crate in the garage. She is the better part of two years old and we have been down the broody path enough times she doesn't peck me so much anymore, when she and her sisters were younger, first time they went broody you would...
I paid for Svart Hona Eggs Friday evening and they made it to Wisconsin today wonderfully packaged, tomorrow they will go under a broody silkie, All questions and emails quickly answered
I ordered hatching eggs that will be here in a few days, going to trust a broody silkie with them. Will post pics once they hatch. I can't keep cockerels so this is just for the novelty, wont be trying to sell or perfect the breed.
Kids are excited, eggs hatching makes them more excited than...
When building something small and that you want to be mobile keep studs to a minimum and sheeting thin. I have a 4x6 coop on a tractor that is 1/4" ply with 2x2 framing at the corners, doors and a few across the top to secure translucent lexan roofing. At that it is still heavy to move. Start...
Finally getting nice enough to mess with the garden but the coops are still on it from winter, and will be staying there one more week
Last weekend I acted like the middle aged male I am and while cleaning up yard debris I picked up and drug way too big a log across the yard to the burn pile...
We have a prefilter that cost $15 every 4-6months to replace, a softener that cost 1 bag of salt a month, and a reverse osmosis system for drinking water that needs $60 worth of filters about every other year.
We did the RO system because we have a 40foot well and the previous owner used...
