Hi everyone! I’m kind of concerned for my hen, Cider, because out of nowhere she started losing feathers. Molting now would be strange I thought because she usually molts around fall-winter and it’s summer currently. She is almost 2 years old and has gone through 2 molts already.

awh :( at least the chick won’t be in pain anymore! if it’s insides were hanging out I really think it would have an extremely low survival rate at that age

I really don’t know too much about ducks, but it’s good that she’s eating and drinking. The reason she’s not quacking is probably just shock I would guess?? I’m glad that you are taking care of her well, I hope someone that knows more about ducks can answer!

Yeah, if it’s happening to multiple birds, one of your birds is doing this. If you really don’t know who it could be, just make sure you separate the bloody birds from the flock and keep them separate. I’m not really sure how you could do that, if you have small cages you could keep them in to...
