Just leave Mom and baby alone. She keeping her baby warm. As to feeding, from what I've read on the posts of other people, the baby doesn't usually eat for a day or so. By the way, congratuations!
I have used baking soda successfully in my house. I make a barrier across the door opening or at the point that they are getting in. I sprinkle it right from the box. I don't know how effective it would be around chickens.

You wake in the morning and find the neighbor's cows in your yard and your response is picking up the cow pies to put in your garden.
Very nice baskets PeeWee. It's very hard to make a lid that fits well on the basket (At least for me!) I like the pine cone on the lid and the setting for the pictures is perfect for that type of basket.
