Should I get a new duck???
I have a small backyard flock; it's all egg laying female ducks. Two of my girls (they are Welsh Harlequins and they're sisters) had prolapse issues last year. I believe it was partially genetic, BUT they haven't had any problems since I sold my drake, so I think his overeager behavior might... -
When will my ducklings start to have their oil gland working.
The ducklings would love a SHALLOW water dish to play around in if you haven't given them one yet, (be warned they will make a huge mess!) but they're not going to be ready to go swimming for a while yet. As for what to feed them, my ducklings enjoyed grower pellets, lettuce and shredded carrot... -
Special requirements for Call ducks?
I'm hoping to buy a Call drake or maybe an East Indie to show competitively. I currently have a small flock of two Welsh Harlequin ducks and a Cayuga duck for egg laying purposes. Would they likely get along with a Call, or could he get hurt? Are predators a concern for a free range Call...
