2yr Goose w/egg bind behaviour when not laying

Oh great, my boyfriend works at a pet store and they carry this. I didn't think it would be strong enough but I'm getting him to bring some home for her. Thank you for taking the time to comment, I really appreciate it.

2yr Goose w/egg bind behaviour when not laying

The only local vet we have that handles farm animals says there isn't much I can do beside bathing, massaging, feeling if the eggs is near her vent and trying to help guide it out. He doesn't think supplements will do much good but said I can try anyways. He doesn't sell anything though. She...

Have you any idea where I might find an equivalent product in Canada? I can't find that here.

2yr Goose w/egg bind behaviour when not laying

This is so wild - I went down to give her the stuff and she's walking fine, if I bit trepid. I couldn't find an egg anywhere... I'm going to have to keep a sharp eye on her and see if thise happens again.

2yr Goose w/egg bind behaviour when not laying

I do give them oyster shell in the Spring - oddly enough today was the first day I offered some to the girls. I wonder if that could have caused this? Seems unlikely. None of the geese have started laying yet this year. They are on layer pellets always though, so they have a steady intake of...

2yr Goose w/egg bind behaviour when not laying

I will see how that helps. She has not laid any eggs yet this year. Do you think its possible this is her first egg and its stuck? We didn't feel anything in her abdomen but...

@Miss Lydia @Goosebaby Perhaps you've come across such things in the past?

2yr Goose w/egg bind behaviour when not laying

Hopefully this video works. I have a 2 yr old Goose that is suddenly walking as though she has egg bind but she has not started laying this season. She is in a big pen with a gander and 2 other geese. They have pools of water and the gander has just started mating them. She is panting, holding...

    Pekin hen not recovering

Thank you. I have been using a Q-tip and she of course really doesn't like it but I will use a greater amount tomorrow morning. I'm doing it in the morning and at night.

Do you happen to know how much is appropriate and where exactly I should place the paste / cream? At the moment I am doing only a very small amount in the corner of her eye, hoping her inner lid will disperse it across rest of eye. Appreciate your thoughts.

It's already purchased - hoping that will kick it out of the darling's system. Thanks for your input.

    Pekin hen not recovering

Thank you for your comment. I'm in British Columbia - where do you purchase your Durvet from? And yes, I use the actual crushed oyster shells not the limestone grits. I will buy some nutritional yeast from grocery store then.

    Pekin hen not recovering

Thank you for your reply. I feed her layer pellets 16%. She has access to oyster shells, but maybe she doesn't like them. She weigh more like 7-10lbs I believe. I can't get either of those durvet products in Canada so will look for different brands I might be able to use. The only Terramycin I...

    Pekin hen not recovering

Hi all - my 4 year old Pekin hen, Jane, has been struggling for awhile with an apparent sinus infection and injured leg. There are photos to show how awful she looks. Information: - she developed an extreme limp very suddenly 4 months ago (left leg). - her limp has slowly gotten worse to the...

    Gosling with eye issues

Pine and spruce shaving - just your standard white wood shaving you'd find at any feed store. I use a larger flake myself that isn't as dusty - no one else seems to be having issues with it but who knows... Good to hear you don't think it is a deformity! I am giving her lots of grass, a small...
