Have you checked the skin? If it has become, for some reason, dry it could crack and bleed under pressure. Gently rubbing on some vegetable or neem oil would help.

What are you feeding them? Having a pot of calcium in there pen can do a surprising amount of goodness for them. For ducks, to give them a bit of a boost we tend to feed them on cooked rice and peas(or corn) for a few days when they get a bit bored. That's another thing, have they got plenty to...
