I have one on the roof @ the highest point to draw the heat out and it works great. So I would say as long as you have a decent amount of wind during the year there great.
The hens keep pulling the straw out of the boxes. The boxes are 10 inches off the ground with a 1 1/2" ledger board and a slanted roof over top. Can I use another material or what? PLEASE HELP!!!
Thank you
Ron
I have 24 Layers (Isa browns & buufs) they are 15 wks. old and 1-2 have started laying and I just bought 2 bags of flock raiser. Should I finish out the flock raiser with some oyster shell on the side or start mixing the FR with layena. I hate to waste the FR and storing for fall meaties in this...
moving my meat birds around they will come in contact with some low growing poison ivy, is it ok for them to eat or won't they bother it.
Thank you
Ron
Do you weigh a select few or do you just judge the size. My meaties are 5 wks. old and are getting big, so I was wondering butcher @7 or 8 wks. or what. Ideas and pictures of butcher size sure would be appreciated .

I have 30 meat birds in the brooder with layers, I have had them 10 days that makes them about 2 wks old and I have been feeding both groups the purina starter @ 18% plant protein 24/7. I plan on moving them to their seperate homes(coop & tractor )@ 4 wks , so should I seperate them right now...
Thanks everyone for your well wishes. I'm looking forward to this site very informative and well read.
