No pics but 4 hatched, 2 had dark bills, and 2 had lighter bills with a dark stripe down the center. I lost track of which were which, but one looks like a google image of the drake, and the other one looks similar to the 2 in the picture but with a bit more red on the chest. So, those numbers...
Is this based solely on the chatter description? Or do you see further clues? Just curious. Another that hatched with these two has black tail, more solidly rust chest, and green head. With a prominent curled tail feather. They’ve been with my older Ancona ducks for the last month and do...
Hatched from Metzer welsh harlequin eggs first week in June. Have not heard a single quack, and their chatter sounds breathy but not hoarse or raspy. Visually I’d guess female, but their vocalizations are throwing me off. 🤔 Any educated guesses welcome, haha.
Hi, sorry about your doggy! It very well could be a UTI or bladder stones or a kidney problem. Or really just about anything. Try to collect a urine sample and get her to the vet. I am sure it's very painful and will need some meds to help clear it up. These are very common symptoms to...

I just used regular ground black pepper. About 2 tbsp mixed in with 6 scramble eggs or 2 cups of cooked oatmeal. It made them drink quite a bit more but I swear it worked to stimulate them to start laying.
Make sure the coop is ventilated so condensation doesn't build up in there and freeze his comb. Also, don't feed any steamy treats (hot oatmeal) so that it doesn't freeze on his comb either.
Check out the "feeding chickens black pepper" thread. I tried it after getting 3 eggs (at most) a day with 12 pullets. Now I regularly get 6-8 eggs a day. None of my chickens are "production" hens.
I fed them black pepper for 4 consecutive days, then stopped once I got them jump started.
You are probably dealing with round worms. If it is first time worming I would do the wazine and in 10 days follow up with valbazen which is a broader spectrum dewormer. I wouldn't eat the eggs until 2 weeks after the valbazen. If your dogs get a monthly heart worm pill check what exactly it...
Thanks to all responders! I did the float test and saw no movement, but about 20% did float above water line. I painstakingly chipped away at that egg for 20 minutes and it was just a very liquid yolk sac. I am so glad it wasn't even fertilized. My heart was racing the entire time. And it...
The egg in question is a standard sized EE egg on day 24 under broody. Bantam egg from same setting hatched Sat at noon. My chickens all run together so dad could possibly be a bantam. I picked up egg from under broody to check it out and as I slowly turned it I felt a "plop" within the egg...
