    Hatched from Metzer welsh harlequin eggs first week in June. Have not heard a single quack, and their chatter sounds breathy but not hoarse or raspy. Visually I’d guess female, but their vocalizations are throwing me off. 🤔 Any educated guesses welcome, haha.

    Make sure the coop is ventilated so condensation doesn't build up in there and freeze his comb. Also, don't feed any steamy treats (hot oatmeal) so that it doesn't freeze on his comb either.

    Check out the "feeding chickens black pepper" thread. I tried it after getting 3 eggs (at most) a day with 12 pullets. Now I regularly get 6-8 eggs a day. None of my chickens are "production" hens. I fed them black pepper for 4 consecutive days, then stopped once I got them jump started.
