I found a large clay saucer. The type you put under potted plants and I turn it upside down and place ice bags under it. The girls can sit right on top of it and cool down, some like to lay next it it. The cool moisture that condenses off it keeps the soil around it cool.
When your talking about apple cider vinegar corroding metal bowls we're talking straight vinegar for salad dressings and marinades not 2% in water. The pH of vinegar is not low enough to cause immediate reactions and then it takes a very high concentration. A table spoon in a gallon of water...
I make my own dog food with chicken, rice and carrots. No salt or any spices. If I add extra water I have a nice clear broth. In this heat when they don't seem to drink enough I soak their food in equal part broth and feed. They love it but is this okay?
The best place to put a coop is under a tree that looses it's leaves in the winter, that way they get plenty of shade in the summer and sun in the winter. I also asked my vet for cool packs. they get their medications shipped in coolers and they always have tons. I freeze them at night and put...
Jack Russel, no rats, possum, or racoons allowed in our yard. He will get up and go outside on patrol, in the middle of the night, if he hears a squeak.
It's a 4'x4'x4' coop on 2' footings. inside 2 nesting boxes. one perch 16" high. 4'x4'x6' front area 1/2 inch hard wire all around. Total area metal roof. They have a scratch yard 8'x8' chicken wire and fishing net on top. For daytime use. Suggestions!

I bought fishing net 4' by 25' at my local marine shop. This stuff is tough. Post every 4' to string it to and I secured the edges together with heavy test line. Adds a nice touch of shade. The center posts are about 12" higher, with a cable from post to post, so it's supported in the middle.
If you have a friend that's handy this is a coop that's supper easy to build and cost me $250 in supplies from Lowes. The boards that you place in the middle is how you increase it in size. Mine is 48x 48 coop and 48x96 run. Took a couple of days painting the wood to match the house and then...
I had to add my two cents. I had a 12x12 box stall for my chickens they loved it in the summer but in the winter they liked to go into the 3x4 dog house at the end of the barn. They would pile right up and be happy as can be when I would feed in the morning they would all come running out like a...
